We announce the merger of ILARRAZ Advogados, with 15 years of solid performance in the corporate sector, with the boutique specialized in Corporate Law LMDias Advocacia Empresarial, both based in the city of Porto Alegre/RS. With the integration, the already consolidated name of ILARRAZ Advogados will be maintained.
The firms have a business focus, with renowned expertise in practices related to Tax, Regulatory, Environmental, Administrative, Contracts, Compliance, Civil Litigation and Digital Law (ILARRAZ) and expertise in Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Investment Structuring (LMDias).
The teams had already been working as partners and decided to invest in the merger. Over a long period of professional collaboration, they realized that their portfolios and expertise, if combined, would result in even greater solidity in the provision of legal services. In the process of the new formation of ILARRAZ Advogados, the partners identified similarities in their strategic visions, with common purposes to assist clients in an efficient manner, with innovation, objectivity and excellence.
The partners have vast experience and are qualified to advise clients with national operations and those who intend to operate abroad, as well as foreign clients interested in investing in Brazil.
Marcelo Ilarraz, in addition to more than 20 years of legal practice, has an outstanding academic background, having been a professor of Tax Law at various stages of his career (undergraduate and graduate). He holds a PhD from the University of London, an LLM (Taxation) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a LLM from PUCRS. During his research period in the UK, he was actively involved in the main debates on taxation and international investment issues, with a special focus on Brazil. He is a founding partner of ILARRAZ Advogados.
Lucas Martins Dias began his career as a lawyer in 2005, in the areas of corporate and contract law. In the academic area, he teaches Corporate Law in several national universities. He worked at large law firms in São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul until he founded LMDias Advocacia Empresarial. In 2021, LMDias was elected one of the leading firms in the areas of Commercial, Corporate and M&A in Porto Alegre/RS by the Legal 500 Directory, a renowned international ranking of the legal market, in addition to Lucas (special mention) as a Recommended Lawyer.
